🎙 Episode 173 – Unfiltered & Intentional: The New Era of This Podcast

Hey there — welcome back to the Holistic Interior Design Podcast. It’s been a minute, and I’m so happy to be here with you again. This is episode 173, and it’s the beginning of a brand new chapter. A return to where this podcast first started: to serve you, my design clients, and to offer support for creating intentional, aligned spaces.

At the top of the episode, I light a candle to bring in clarity, presence, and connection — and I pull a card from the Rider Waite deck. The card I pulled came through, which feels so aligned with this moment and confirmation that I'm on the right track.

This episode is really about letting you in on what’s been going on behind the scenes — the shifts in my business, the evolution of the podcast, and why I’m choosing to show up now raw and unedited. Perfectionism has held me back, and I’m ready to let that go. This space is going to be real, honest, and supportive — just like the homes and spaces we’re all working to create.

In this episode, I share:

  • Why I’m returning to my original intention for the podcast
  • The journey I’ve been on with burnout, reevaluating, and getting back to basics
  • A little love note to all my design mentees (you're still welcome here!)
  • How this podcast will now speak directly to conscious homeowners, holistic business owners, and anyone creating intentional space
  • What to expect from upcoming episodes — design tips, inspiration, Feng Shui insights, astrology lead design, space clearing practices, and aligning your space with your true essence
  • How you can submit your design questions or book a design audit to be featured on the show

Want to be featured on the podcast?

If you’ve got a design dilemma or a question about your space, I’d love to hear it! You can leave me a voice message right here: https://www.speakpipe.com/HID

What’s next?

Starting Tuesday, May 6, I’ll be back releasing new episodes weekly — short, soulful, and packed with inspiration, practical tips, and rituals to help you create a space that truly reflects who you are. We’ll kick things off next week with a revamped version of “What Is Holistic Interior Design?”

Thanks for being here and for allowing me to shift, evolve, and come back to this space with more presence and purpose. I hope it resonates. I can’t wait to hear your questions and support you in designing the spaces of your dreams.

Talk soon,

xo —Rachel

Hello, and welcome back to the Holistic Interior Design podcast.

Speaker A

We are on episode 173, and before I dive in to today's episode, I'm going to go ahead and light our candle Set intention.

Speaker A

The light that we're going to be bringing into the space with the candle represents clarity, presence, and alignment with all of you here today.

Speaker A

Get this candle going.

Speaker A

And then I'm pulling a card from my Rider Waite Coleman Smith deck.

Speaker A

So let's see what we've got here for a message for all of you listening.

Speaker A

At the moment, we have the King of Pentacles.

Speaker A

This is absolute abundance, wealth, prosperity, things blooming and fruiting and just living in this space of receiving and luxury.

Speaker A

This is such a beautiful sign.

Speaker A

I absolutely adore this card.

Speaker A

I'm so glad it came in.

Speaker A

I actually pulled this card earlier this week, so it looks like things are.

Speaker A

Are shifting.

Speaker A

It's a sign that I'm on the right path, and I know that you all are as well, and I'm so happy that you're here with us today.

Speaker A

As you've noticed, I've been going through a lot of shifts and changes and just showing that on the podcast.

Speaker A

It's been a while since I came on here, and things have just been evolving and.

Speaker A

And shifting.

Speaker A

This year has been really, really rough for me and my business.

Speaker A

It's just been taken a toll on me, and I'm just trying to figure things out.

Speaker A

I'm on this journey and.

Speaker A

And sometimes I know what I'm doing, and other times I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing.

Speaker A

And with that, at the beginning of the year, I set the intention of getting back to basics, getting back to and serving my clients and all of those things.

Speaker A

And with that, I'm realizing that I need to bring this podcast back to its original essence.

Speaker A

So when I first created this podcast in the beginning of 2022, the intention was to create a podcast to support my clients, sharing my philosophy of holistic interior design, what that means to me, sharing spirituality within our homes, for healing.

Speaker A

And in the process of creating this podcast, I had been invited to do talks, you know, at San Diego State and other events and workshops.

Speaker A

And I created my mentorship program, the Design Coven, and held mentorship there for young, aspiring or new interior designers or designers that are shifting from another career into interior design.

Speaker A

And then I also shifted this podcast.

Speaker A

This podcast actually used to be called Bewitching the Home, which I love, but there's no SEO words in there that will help me get found.

Speaker A

So, but in that I, I switched the podcast over to support those young designers, or I shouldn't say young designers, newer designers, because many of them are second, third career, which I think is fabulous.

Speaker A

But I'm finding out that I really need to shift back into the original essence of this podcast and to support my ideal clients.

Speaker A

I hope that all of you that are listening, that are holistic interior designers or soon to be holistic interior designers to stay along.

Speaker A

Please stay with me on this journey as I shift the podcast to support, you know, my, my clients.

Speaker A

And I hope that this will also inspire you to create a community or to offer content to your ideal clients as well.

Speaker A

But going forward, my primary focus on the podcast is going to be to serve my design clients directly.

Speaker A

And so this podcast is going to be speaking to that conscious homeowner, mindful entrepreneur, holistic wellness pract practitioner, small boutique hotel owner, all of those people, even you, if you're a new designer, you're welcome to stay along.

Speaker A

And basically this podcast is going to be for anyone that is creating space that is meant to heal, that's meant to nurture and to really reflect who they truly are.

Speaker A

So every week on the podcast, I'm going to be sharing inspiration, resources and actionable tips to help you create sacred space within your business or your home or, you know, your office.

Speaker A

I'm going to be sharing tips, design tips and feng shui tips and tips on using your zodiac to align with your interiors.

Speaker A

I'm going to be sharing rituals and practical ideas that you can align your space with your unique essence of who you are.

Speaker A

These episodes are going to be released on Tuesday, going back to my original release dates.

Speaker A

So the first episode is going to be this coming Tuesday and we're going to kind of distill it back to what is holistic interior design.

Speaker A

That was my first episode.

Speaker A

We're going to dial that back and kind of give you a new revamped version of that.

Speaker A

With where I am right now.

Speaker A

I've also, I'm also going to be introducing you, the listener that have a question.

Speaker A

So we've got a Speak pipe link that's going to be in the show notes where you can actually call in your design question, your design dilemma.

Speaker A

Have a question for me.

Speaker A

You'll get to call in, leave a message and then I'll play your question on the episode and, and then we'll, we'll answer it there.

Speaker A

So that's going to be really beautiful.

Speaker A

I'm also bringing back the original 20 minute design audits so audits are going to come back.

Speaker A

I did this at the very beginning where I had people listening in.

Speaker A

All our listeners book an appointment with me where we look at their space on the podcast and they ask their questions, I answer.

Speaker A

I look at, you know, all the photos of what they've got going on.

Speaker A

And it's really cool because all the listeners that are listening get to partake and hear, you know, what's it like to have somebody give you advice or maybe there's a question that you might have in your home.

Speaker A

Same question.

Speaker A

And we're learning from each other, which is really cool.

Speaker A

Those are all going to feature real people, like I said, just like you, navigating real spaces, real challenges.

Speaker A

It's just going to be a great way for all of us to learn in a.

Speaker A

In a beautiful, authentic and approachable way.

Speaker A

I'm also not going to be editing these podcast episodes, or at least it'll be very, very minimal.

Speaker A

I have a with perfectionism, and that has held me back in so many ways.

Speaker A

So I'm really trying to release that.

Speaker A

So I will probably mispronounce words.

Speaker A

I'll stumble over things.

Speaker A

I'm just going to keep all that in.

Speaker A

It's really just going to be raw, unedited, and just intentionally designed that way.

Speaker A

Just to give you a reflection of my own personal journey, showing up as I am and releasing any, you know, things that are holding me back from receiving opportunities that I know are out there for me and I have access to.

Speaker A

So I just really want to thank all of you for tuning in, reconnecting with me.

Speaker A

I'd love to know more about your spaces.

Speaker A

What are the issues and struggles that you have with designing your space?

Speaker A

Like I said, if it's your home, your office, maybe a restaurant that you're designing because you're the owner, and this is your new newest venture, whatever it is, please drop us a line in the the show notes.

Speaker A

Either sharing your issue on Speak Pipe, like I said, you just call it in and.

Speaker A

And it records you.

Speaker A

And I think it's also a link on the website where you can actually just record yourself on your computer, which is really cool.

Speaker A

And yeah, I just wanted to thank you all again.

Speaker A

And our first episode will be airing on Tuesday the 6th.

Speaker A

And I look forward to this new era, this new adventure, just keeping it raw and unfiltered.

Speaker A

I'm also revamping the website.

Speaker A

We're revamping the look and the vibe of everything, and I hope that it will align with all of you.

Speaker A

So until Next time, keep creating sacred space and we'll talk to you soon.
